1. Zero Tolerance Policy
UNET prohibits any content that exploits, abuses, or endangers minors. This includes:
- Child sexual abuse material (CSAM) — any image, video, or written content depicting the sexual exploitation of a minor.
- Grooming — communications intended to establish trust with a minor for the purpose of future abuse or exploitation.
- Solicitation — any attempt to obtain sexual content from, or arrange sexual contact with, a person under the age of 18.
- Sexualisation of minors — content that presents minors in a sexual context, regardless of whether real individuals are depicted.
Violations result in immediate and permanent account termination. Confirmed or suspected CSAM is reported to the relevant national authorities and, where applicable, to the Internet Watch Foundation (IWF) and INHOPE member hotlines in accordance with applicable law.
2. Content Moderation
2.1 User Reporting
Every post, comment, and profile on UNET includes an in-app reporting mechanism. Reports indicating potential child safety violations are escalated immediately and treated with the highest priority.
2.2 Human Review
All reports involving potential child safety violations are reviewed by a human moderator.
We do not rely solely on automated systems for these decisions. Upon confirmation of a violation:
- Content is removed immediately.
- The account is permanently banned and all associated content is deleted.
- A report is submitted to the relevant national authority or INHOPE hotline.
- Evidence is retained for the purposes of law enforcement cooperation.
2.3 Proactive Safeguards
In addition to reactive moderation, UNET implements the following proactive measures:
- New accounts are subject to rate limiting and visibility restrictions during an initial period.
- Private accounts require explicit follower approval, limiting unsolicited contact with any user.
- Direct messaging is restricted to mutual followers or users who have opted in, reducing potential grooming vectors.
- Uploaded media is scanned against known CSAM hash databases where technically feasible.
3. Reporting Child Sexual Abuse Material
If you encounter suspected CSAM on UNET:
- In-app: Tap the three-dot menu on any post or profile, select "Report", and choose the appropriate category. Your report is sent directly to our safety team.
- By email: Contact us at [email protected]. Please do not download, forward, or store the content — this may itself constitute a criminal offence in your jurisdiction.
- National authorities: In the European Union, reports can be submitted via your local INHOPE member hotline at inhope.org. In the United Kingdom, reports may be submitted to the Internet Watch Foundation at iwf.org.uk.
4. Law Enforcement Cooperation
UNET cooperates fully with competent law enforcement authorities in investigations concerning child exploitation. Upon receipt of a valid legal process — including a court order, judicial warrant, or equivalent instrument under applicable law — we will provide all relevant available information to the extent required and permitted by law, including under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
Law enforcement requests should be directed to [email protected].
5. Age Requirements
UNET requires users to be at least 13 years of age to create an account. Users in jurisdictions with higher minimum age requirements — including certain EU member states under Article 8 of the GDPR, which permits national law to set the age of digital consent up to 16 — must comply with their local law.
Where we become aware that a user is below the applicable minimum age, the account will be terminated and all associated data deleted without undue delay, in accordance with our obligations under the GDPR.
